Baccha kaisa

It was again one of those moments when you could not help but ROFL. This was how the conversation went. Three of us were sitting in the cafeteria and discussing some serious topic. The person involved in the ATM incident (check out my earlier posts) again plays her part. Phone rings…..

Friend: Yes?

Person on other end of the line: (something said)

Friend: haan…haan….

Person on other end of the line: (something said again)

Friend: arre, par aap mujhe yeh to batayiye ki baccha kaisa hoga?

At that very moment we could not do anything but laugh like crazy. However, it was when we received the explanation for that statement that I was much impressed by my friend. She has been donating money to sponsor the education of kids not so priveleged as ourselves.

I can only say, keep on the good work friend. You are making a huge difference in the lives of these kids.

ATM blues

As I walked along with a friend to go to the temple, my friend suddenly remembered that she had to withdraw some cash. Inspite of all our attempts to dissuade her, she barged into the small cage housing the ATM machine. There were 2 of us outside the ATM waiting for her.

Suddenly, I heard a loud guffaw and turned around to witness something that I had never encountered before, the ATM machine reading “Unable to recognize card! “. Before I could go in and try to press my expert opinion on her, I saw that the security person at the gate was already holding the card and trying to swipe it. He somehow managed to get the machine working.

Before my friend could respond, the securityman had already selected the language as ‘Hindi’. I could hear my friend shouting “Aapne Hindi Kyun select kar liya?”. The poor security guy could only mutter “aap PIN enter kijiye na…”. In response, my friend shouted, “Aapko hindi aati hogi, mujhe nahi aati hai na.” 😀

The two of us outside could hold on no longer and just burst out laughing.

Talk about crazy incidents at an ATM.
